Springfield Veterinary Center is a full-service veterinary facility established in July 2000 by the husband-and-wife team Dr. Steve and Terri Escobar.  We offer full medical diagnosis and treatment, pharmacy, dental, surgical, emergency care, and x-ray services, including OFA and Penn Hip. Dr. Kolster is Penn Hip certified. Dr. Kolster and Dr. Ontiveros adds reproductive specialty services and are both a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology. Springfield Veterinary Center is an accredited member of AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association).

We are here to service the cities of Richmond, VA, Glen Allen, VA, Henrico, VA, Mechanicsville, VA, Midlothian, VA, Manakin-Sabot, VA, Chesterfield, VA, Rockville, VA, Ashland, VA, Powhatan, VA and more!

I have had to bring my sweet Po in for some issues twice now and every time, the staff at Springfield has treated him with such good care as if he was their own. The front desk staff is always so kind and always willing to help and answer questions that I may have. Po has been to other vets in the past but by far, Dr. Kilgore has been the best one and he’s the only vet I will ever take my pets to. Dr. Kilgore goes above and beyond with patient care and is so knowledgeable. I couldn’t say enough good things about him. After appointments, he always goes into detail about what happened during the appointment and how to care for Po at home. He also makes sure that all my questions are answered before I leave the office and even follows up to see how Po is doing the next day. Dr. Kilgore and his team are the only people I trust with my cat and I never worry when having to drop Po off for a procedure. That is not a bad thing per se but it does make me a little nervous sometimes as to whether my pets health is driving some of the recommendations or if it is a profit motive. He lays out the options and gives the owner the choice if they want to pursue a more aggressive workup or not, understanding that sometimes it can be expensive. He has great bedside manner and takes the time to explain his reasoning and answer any questions.
